While the food outdoors usually entices a big crowd, the interest inside was just as great due to over 70 partner booths on the midway and the all-new treasure hunt of 11 mystery booths. The Treasure Hunt Winner took home the REI Half Dome tent valued at $175.  Chefs from four Landry's-owned restaurants gave the heads up to Troops 224, 18, 533 and 557.  Check out the complete list  of unit booth winners.

Camporee

Each year in the spring scouts of the Arrowmoon District gather together for good natured competition between units and patrols and camaraderie. This year we gathered at camp Arrowmoon on April 1-3 and had a rendezvous celebrating the spirit of the 175th anniversary of Texas independence. The Scout of Sea Ship 1876 lead activities following this theme and put on the campfire for the event with many units participating in skits. A Great time was had by all. The next Capmoree will be from March 23-25, 2012.

Scouting For Food

Scouting for Food is the largest food drive in the Boy Scouts of America, aimed at addressing the problem of hunger in all communities across the United States.  The Arrowmoon District collection effort is carried out by Boy Scouts, Venturers and Cub Scouts across the Brazos Valley.  The drive is broken down into two days: bags out and bags in.  On the first Saturday of Scouting for Food, Scouts distribute bags with attached notes throughout a designated area requesting residents to fill the bags with non-perishable food items.  On the second Saturday of Scouting for Food, Scouts collect the bags and take them to the Brazos Valley Food Bank for distribution to area pantries.
