First Aid-O-Ree

Purpose: The purpose of this competition is to provide the scouts a exciting opportunity to practice first aid and emergency preparedness in a safe and fair manner.

Directions: From FM 2818 (Harvey Mitchell Parkway) in College Station, take North Dowling Road and turn right onto Stillwater Road. (Click here for map.)

What to Wear: All scouts and visitors to Disaster CityŽ must be in long pants and long sleeves the entire day. Scouts should wear long sleeve t-shirts under their Scout Class B uniform. Everyone is also required to wear sturdy boots or rugged shoes. No sandals or open toe shoes are allowed in Disaster CityŽ. Tennis shoes are ok.

What to Bring: The normal items found in a patrol sized First Aid Kit. This includes: Triangular bandages (8-10), 4x4 Pads (12-15), Splints (the patrol interpreter should be prepared to explain what natural or available materials could be used-you will need at least one long splint and several short splints), Stretcher Materials (prefer an improvised one).
